Crafting in Crimson Desert is straightforward. ⚔️

• You can immediately make items using the new R button, which was added in the most recent patch.
• There are almost no substitutions required for crafting materials.
• Using a smithy in your camp is important for crafting.

Crafting becomes more complex when combined with the adjacent system of refinement.

The latest patch introduced several changes and a hotfix.

The major update includes:

• Added five summonable mounts. ⚔️
• Decreased loading times for fast travel and revival.
• Changes to controls.
• Updates to the stamina system.
• Updates to stealth and thiefing.
• Implemented a new reward system.
• Tweaks to unintended movement tech:
• Now has a special animation.
• Uses more stamina with repeated uses.
• Can be used with other weapons instead of just one-handed swords.
• The mini map can now be fixed to always point north. 🗺️
• New icons have been added.
• The skills menu now shows more information on how much stats will be affected.

A hotfix was also released that fixed an issue where some bosses would sometimes stop moving during combat. 🔧

In Crimson Desert, you can catch fish using two methods: by hand or with a fishing rod.

To fish with a rod:

• Buy a Fishing Rod from the Provisioner’s Shop in Hernand. 🎣
• Equip the rod from the item wheel by holding the D-Pad. It replaces the bow slot in your inventory.
• Find a large body of water like a pond or lake where you can visibly see fish swimming. Fish are usually in deeper water. If no fish are visible, you won't catch any.

To cast and reel:

• You can learn how to fish by holding Control or L1 on another NPC who is fishing.
• With the rod equipped, press Q or hold L2 to take it out.
• To cast, let go of L2 or hold and then let go of left click.
• Wiggling the rod can make a fish bite faster.
• Once a fish bites, hook it with right click or R2. 🎯
• When reeling, you must counter the fish's movement:
• If the fish goes left, move your rod to the right.
• If the fish goes right, move your rod to the left.
• Do not reel if the fish is fighting. Wait until the fish tires out, then you can start reeling it in.
• You do not need bait for fishing.

You can get more inventory slots in Crimson Desert through several methods:

• Complete quests that provide standard inventory expansion tools. ⚔️
• Complete faction quests.
• Purchase inventory expansions from vendors.
• Receive the Inventory Bag as a reward from certain quests.

Macduff was the name used for the main character in early 2019 promotional material. Current official material consistently refers to the protagonist as Kliff. ⚔️

His backstory, as described in older material, includes:

• He is the son of Martinus.
• He is originally from Kweiden, a harsh land in the north.
• He is the leader of a band of mercenaries, specifically the Greymanes.
• He is burdened by leadership and a tragic past.
• He is seen being stabbed in a 2020 trailer and is killed and resurrected in recent game footage.

It is unclear how much of this older naming and family background remains unchanged in the final version of the story, as current official material uses the name Kliff and does not emphasize Martinus.

To beat the Tenebrum boss, follow these steps:

• First, you must approach Tenebrum in Chapter 4 during the Main Quest: Gate to the Otherworld.
• Reveal Tenebrum's weak points using Blinding Flash - Spot Weakness. ⚔️
• Hold L1+R1 then press R1 (PlayStation) or hold LB+RB then press RB (Xbox).
• Aim at the flying specter. This only needs to be done once.
• The weak spots will be marked with a small red dot when you are close.
• Your objective is to land three successful Force Palm blows on Tenebrum.
• To attack, you must hit Tenebrum with Force Palm while flying in the air.
• Double press Square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox) to jump and use your wings. Do this over the middle of the plaza where the floor is missing; the wind will catapult you up.
• In midair, press R3 (PlayStation) or Right Stick (Xbox) to perform Force Palm. 🎯
• Tenebrum moves quickly and relocates often. A defensive approach is recommended.
• Wait for Tenebrum to relocate and follow the shadow trail it leaves.
• Dash forward to where the trail ends to quickly land a Force Palm.
• Dash backward immediately to maintain a safe distance from counterattacks like Dark Strike or Dark Whirlwind.
• Repeat this process three times to eliminate the boss.
• You can fly around the area for an infinite amount of time without draining your stamina.

Tenebrum is a Boss found in the Scholastone Institute, Scholastone 🏔️. You will encounter it after Octavius summons it during the main quest Gate of the Otherworld.

This is one of the quickest boss battles in the game. Tenebrum has a hollow form, making it difficult to attack, and moves very quickly. Its offensive and defensive capabilities are predictable.

To damage Tenebrum, you must land successful Force Palm blows on its weak points.

Here's the strategy for the fight:

• Use Blinding Flash - Spot Weakness to reveal its weak points.
• Weak points are marked with a small red dot when you get close.
• Use your Aerial Force Palm to launch yourself high enough to use Fly.
• You can fly around the area infinitely without draining stamina.
• Your objective is to land three successful Force Palm blows onto Tenebrum to neutralize it 🎯.

It is recommended to practice maneuvering while flying before this battle, as controls can be difficult. A defensive approach is recommended due to the boss's offensive nature and swift relocation attempts.

Tenebrum has an attack called Dark Strike.

Defeating Tenebrum does not provide any drops or rewards.

No, you do not need to keep cooking recipes in your inventory after you have read them and learned the information. 📖

Once you have learned the information from a recipe, it takes up inventory space.

You can sell learned recipes to vendors for currency, such as copper or silver. Alternatively, you can gift them to increase your relationship status. 💰

There is no reason to keep recipes once the information is learned; selling or gifting them helps manage inventory issues and provides benefits.
